Greetings travellers and a happy new year,
Echoes of 2010
Firstly a big thankyou to all our friends and fans, there are so many of you we can't list everyone so in order avoid disppointment, if your reading this then you have our sincere gratitude !
As we leave what has been a truly great year for the band a quick recap.... The year began with us putting the finishing touches to our first official release, namely "The Bones of this Land are not Speechless" split with the fantastic Meads of Asphodel. The split CD came out in March via Godreah Records and received great responses from fans and media.
Following the release of the CD the band took to the road. From April through to December the band played a series of live shows in Bradford, Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby, Darlington, Durham, Leicester, London, Liverpool, Wakefield and Manchester. A major highlight was playing the New Blood Stage at Bloodstock Festival which was a truly brilliant experience. These gigs also included several day gig/mini festivals such as Gathering of the Clans, Fires of Rebellion (hosted by Old Corpse Road) and Show No Mercia. Weve played with many great bands such as Wodensthrone, Winterfylleth, Northern Oak, Ravenage, Eibon La Furies, Hecate Enthroned and Infernal Creation to name a few.
2010 also saw the band feature in Terrorizer magazine in the choice cuts section and on the cover mount CD. The band has also spent time in between gigs working on material for an upcoming debut album.
Onwards into 2011
Let’s kick off the new year by introducing our new website which can be located at the usual location of www.oldcorpseroad.co.uk. To coincide with this we have been updating our folklore database and community site www.nemain.co.uk alongside our own forum too.
January will see the re-release of our demo “The Echoes of Tales Once Told” in limited edition tape format. The tape is now available for pre-order at our online store or visit www.darknessshaderecords.tk.
Over the first half of the year we will be once again entering the studio to record our as yet untitled debut album.
2011 will see the band continuing the live pursuit with several gigs already announced. We are also looking into hosting our own mini festival and arranging a mini tour, more to come on that soon!
