Es ist natürlich ein Klischee, erstmal anzunehmen, jede englische Black Metal-Band klänge nach CRADLE OF FILTH. Und Quatsch ist es auch. Aber im Fall von OLD CORPSE ROAD stimmt es trotzdem. Aber überraschenderweiseweise klingt das 2008 gegründete Quartett auf seinem Debütalbum mal nicht nach den kommerziellsten Zeiten der Gothic/Black Metal-Schablone, sondern eifert deutlich den "Principle Of Evil Made Flesh"-Zeiten nach, ohne die ganze Platte über wie ein Plagiat zu klingen.

Holy shit! Who brought Cradle of Filth (circa 1996) back from the dead!. With a very familiar sound, today we have Old Corpse Road their debut full-length release “'Tis Witching Hour... As Spectres We Haunt This Kingdom”. Sounding eerily similar to CoF on their “Vempire or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein”/”Dusk…and Her Embrace” era, today we have this British band with a very explosive sound with some Folk elements thrown in to keep things a bit fresh.
