In less than two weeks we will once again hit the road. This time we will be supporting Finnish symphonic death metallers Whorion who will embark on their UK tour. We will play three of the northern dates in Blyth, Sheffield and Wakefield from Saturday 17th to Monday 19th May.
As you may recall we have been using session drummer Tom 'Box Head' Warner since last July. Now that The Dreamer has returned to the live fold, we wanted to give Tom a final blast and he will therefore be playing with us on the Sheffield and Wakefield shows. The Dreamer will be playing the Blyth show.
We are very excited about these gigs and hope to see you there!
We have once again entered Orphic Audio Studios to record our track for the upcoming split 7" with The Infernal Sea. Drums have been recorded and we will begin tracking the guitars very soon.
The track will be entitled 'The Sockburn Worm' and is a tale very close to our hometown about a serpentine creature or wyvern which terrorised the area around the River Tees until it was eventually slain. The beauty of this story is that it is one of the least documented yet well known tales from around the area and as such many of the details are shrouded in mystery.
Pre-orders for the split will be up soon via Three Swords Records.
As we say goodbye to 2013 and welcome 2014 we just wanted to share a few words to say thank you to all those who have made this year another fantastic journey for Old Corpse Road.
To all the fans who have supported us, all the bands, magazines and promoters we have worked with, we are eternally grateful. We've played some brilliant gigs and met some amazing people. Too many to tag, you know who you are!
We look forward to 2014, which will see the release of our split 7" with The Infernal Sea on Three Swords Records and later in the year, the release of the second album, more details of which we will share with you soon.
We hope you all have a happy new year!
